We Have a Winner!
Karen (Stevens) Cook has won the four free raffle tickets for this year’s golf cart.  Congratulations!  We’re putting 4 tickets with Karen’s name on them for Friday night’s drawing.
We want to thank everyone that took the time to comment. Â As we mentioned earlier, the stories are an inspiration for us to do all we can to make this charity and our events the best possible and to give back to those who need it. 2009 Banquet SOLD OUT!
Its official! The banquet is SOLD OUT once again with NO seats remaining. For anyone who has contacted us and is on the list, but has not PAID, no worries as you will be able to pay at the door. Anyone who has sent in their money and  is marked PAID will go through another line and be checked off. Thanks so much for making this another HUGE success and we look forward to sharing a great night with you on Friday as we Celebrate/Give/Remember!.   Happy Hour starts at 4:30 and Dinner is served at 6:00!

Giveaway Ends Today – Chad and Andy Update

Chad & Andy’s Blog – j town to d town
We may have understated Chad and Andy’s trek from Jeff City to Dexter in our previous post. Â They are actually canoeing from Jtown to Cape and then biking from Cape to Dtown!
The link below is a blog that Andy Niedert and Chad Gaylord will be posting on as they CANOE from Jeff City (Jtown) to Cape and then Bike from Cape to Dexter (Dtown)! Yes, they are nuts…..but will be fun to keep up with their trek. Farm Bureau is giving them a big send off today, they are donating money to wear Jeans to work (someone must have some pull up there) and also having an ice cream social as a fundraiser for us! Andy and Chad will dock in Cape next Thursday and then bike to Dexter Friday, ending at HTCC during the afternoon!

As most of you know, for the last several years we have raffled off a brand new Club Car. This year is no different. We have a NEW! 2009 White Club Car waiting for a lucky winner. It, including a trailer, will be given away June 5th at our banquet and the winner need not be present at the banquet.
Raffle tickets are $10 a piece. However, this year we are giving away 4 free tickets ($40 value Math kids!) right here, to one individual. All you have to do is use the Comment Form below and tell us what has been your favorite 18 FORE Life moment or memory. You may have more than one! If you’ve never been to one of our events, tell us what it is about 18 FORE Life you like most. Biking with Ben!
Thanks to Chad and Andy for raising money and awareness for 18 FORE Life!
Below is a message from the Missouri Farm Bureau’s home office –
Many of you are familiar with The Ben Kruse 18 Fore Life Charity Golf Event held annually in Dexter to raise money for the V-Foundation for cancer research, as well as for families in Southeast Missouri whose lives are affected by cancer. This year, our own CHAD GAYLORD in the Claims’ Department and his friend ANDY NEIDERT have pledged to ride their bicycles from Jefferson City to Dexter, both in memory of Ben as well as to provide recognition for the event held June 5th.
To show our support, you are invited to help send them off this Friday, May 29 at 1:00 p.m. We will provide free Ice Cream Sundaes followed by a brief presentation about the event by Chad and Andy on the patio, weather permitting. (Although the forecast looks promising, we will be in the Atrium in case of rain.)
Also, to help show our support, we will have a JEANS DAY for $2 on Friday, with the money going toward the charity event. You may drop off your $$ in HR if you would like to participate.

Gary Rhine Article In the Daily Statesman
Last week the Daily Statesman ran a great article about Gary Rhine written by Noreen Hyslop.  Gary is a cancer survivor who will share his story at our banquet this year and will also act on an idea he has of raising an extra $10,000 for 18 FORE Life!

Hey everybody! Today we’re unveiling our new site and trying out a new way to communicate with folks who enjoy checking out our website. We are proud of this site and the more interaction we can have, the better. Plus, it is nice to have a way to post news, information, inspirational stories, and other happenings for anyone and everyone to see. Feel free to add comments to each and every post that interests you. We have a lot going on with our charity at this time.  June 5th will be here before we know it. Our goal for 2009 is once again to raise over $100,000 and we feel good about that goal. Our volunteers are working hard, our sponsors are showing their usual generous support, and everyone is looking forward to a great weekend June 5-6! Thanks to everyone for the support and enjoy the site.
